Summerhill House Hotel is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a 4-star rating by Fáilte Ireland, the National Tourism Development Authority in Ireland. The prestigious rating is a testament to the hotel’s exceptional quality and commitment to providing an unparalleled guest experience.

We would also like to express our thanks to our owner, Lorraine Sweeney and Fergus O’ Grady, Group Managing Director, for their support of the hotel and investment in the venue during the last number of years. Lorraine Sweeney invested heavily in the hotel during the pandemic, which was a difficult time for hoteliers, and we have been on the journey
to 4* ever since. We are so grateful to Lorraine and Fergus for the investment and their confidence in us.
- Complete refurbishment of hotel bathrooms.
- Soft refurbishment of hotel bedrooms including new carpets; new curtains; some new furniture; new 42” Flat Screen Smart TVs; new hairdryers; new high quality linen and bedding; upgraded toiletries and painting and papering of all bedrooms.
- Complete refurbishment of our Hotel Restaurant which was re-launched as The Terrace Bistro. This included tiling of the Bistro, papering and painting of same, new furniture, new crockery and glassware, new menus which change seasonally, introduction of an extensive cold buffet breakfast and menu selection for hot breakfast items. New Drinks Menu / Cocktail Menu and Wine List.
- Complete refurbishment of our Hotel Reception, Lobby and Entrance to the Hotel – new desks, new carpet, totally new look from a décor perspective.
- Refurbishment of our Drawing Room.
- Refurbishment of Staff Facilities including Ladies and Gents and Staff Dining Area.
- Investment in Staff Training and new Uniforms for all Staff.
- Painting of the exterior of the Hotel has also been completed along with work in the Gardens / Driveway.
